Sophomore Gator Lian Wang Competed on vault for the U.S. He made two vaults but failed to advance to the event finals as Jade Carey (Oregon State) and Jordan Chiles (UCLA) of the U.S. and other NCAA competitors topped the vault standings in the subdivision. . After completing 10 preliminary sessions, the top 8 overall will advance to the device finals. Each final device cannot contain more than two devices from the same nation.
The Women’s Team Final will be played on Tuesday, November 1, with play starting at 2:30pm ET. All medal round sessions will be broadcast on NBC’s Peacock. The top three teams will participate in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Women’s World Championship 2022 team selection scores
Wong was named to the six-man USA Gymnastics World Championships roster a week ago at the team’s selection camp in Katy, Texas.
The NCAA’s impact on the US world roster
Prior to the 2022 World Championships, only six competed collegiately and were part of the US World Championships team in the same calendar year. This number has now reached 9 As Wang, Jordan Chiles (UCLA) and Jade Carey (Oregon State) all competed as freshmen in 2022 NCAA action.
Wong won the all-around silver and bronze at the 2021 World Championships in Japan. He just is One of the three American gymnasts Compete as a university between consecutive world championships.

Of the Gators currently enrolled at UF, Wong is among four to compete in the World Championships. Morgan Heard (2017 and 2018), Riley McCusker (2018) and Kayla De Cello (2021) also represented the United States at the World Championships. McCusker and Hurd won team gold in 2018. Heard won the all-around title at the 2017 World Championships and Di Cello won the all-around bronze medal in 2021.
