Team USA Leads After Subdivision 1 World Gymnastics Championships Qualifying

The United States opened the team qualifiers at the World Gymnastics Championships on Saturday at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool, England. The United States qualified for Subdivision 1 with a score of 167.263. The selection matches of the women’s team continue on Sunday with the competition of sub-divisions 3-10.

Sophomore Gator Lian Wang Competed on vault for the U.S. He made two vaults but failed to advance to the event finals as Jade Carey (Oregon State) and Jordan Chiles (UCLA) of the U.S. and other NCAA competitors topped the vault standings in the subdivision. .
