Resident Evil 4 Remake Adds Sidequests, Makes Other Changes

In new Game informer cover story, Capcom detailed some of the highly anticipated changes in the remake Resident evil 4 making for a highly influential original horror game.

One of the big changes coming to the RE4 remake revolves around how Ashley Graham (not the supermodel) works in scenes where the protagonist Leon S. Kennedy has to escort and protect her. In the original RE4, players had to keep a close eye on Ashley’s health bar and make sure she didn’t get carried away by enemies. Ashley desperately, and often, screaming out the name of Leon, players will not fail to perform any of the above-mentioned tasks.

In the remake, Ashley no longer has a health bar. Should President Graham Dumbo-ear daughter taking too much damage as Leon tries to escort her to safety from Las Plagas, she will enter a weak state and must be revived, IGN reports.

According to a representative from Capcom, this change to Ashley’s gameplay mechanic was made to make her feel “more like a natural companion and less like a second health bar to take care of babies”.

Another change coming RE4and Remake is a weapon survival, specifically for the Leon combat knife. As seen at the end of the extended last October game trailer, Leon’s trusty knife comes at a great cost to be able to breed a chainsaw. Instead of toting around “ol’ trusty” all over the RE4 remake to open wooden boxes, chip away at zombies, and conserve ammo, Leon’s knife will deteriorate over time, but players can have multiple knives in his inventory, which is still in the form of Leon’s iconic attache case .

Side quests are making their way to the RE4 repeat. According to IGN, blue flyers scattered about the game let you get optional tasks you can complete as side-quests. Finally, there is the Game informer A cover story refers to the fast-time events, often a feature of the original RE4effectively, although this aspect of repetition was also mentioned in previous interviews.

“I’d say there are hardly any QTEs. Different people have different definitions of what a QTE is, so while I can’t tell you there aren’t any at all, I can say there aren’t any hints to push buttons in the middle of the story,” said producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi IGN in an interview beforehand.

Resident evil 4 (Repeat) it is set to release on March 24 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
