The daughter of Brazilian football great Pele has posted a happier photo to social media as her father continues to fight for life.
Pele’s family have gathered at the hospital as his condition worsens – with Kely Nascimento sharing moments of happier times as the 82-year-old receives care after colon cancer has progressed.
Taking to Instagram, Nascimento shared a photo of the soccer icon of herself and her two other daughters – Flavia and Jennifer – at the Gala Pequeno Principe event, a health center.

Nascimento was also photographed on Christmas Day by the Israeli Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo, Brazil, with a caption.
He took to his Instagram profile again later in the day to express his gratitude to the medical staff at the hospital.
“We always have a lot to be thankful for, even spending Christmas in the hospital we know it’s a privilege to be in a hospital like @hosp_einstein,” he wrote.
She posted a photo of her family to Instagram on Christmas night alongside a post thanking hospital staff for caring for her 82-year-old terminally ill patient.
“To see our father extremely competent and lovingly treated by these doctors.”
The likes of Rivaldo, and footballers from around the world, paid tribute and prayed for the safety of one of football’s most famous sons.
The Brazil legend had a tumor removed from his colon in September 2021 but was admitted to hospital on November 29.

A statement released by the hospital last week said Pele needed further care ‘for renal and cardiac dysfunction’.
The daughter of the three-time World Cup winner, confirmed family members were joining Natal with her in the hospital with her grandchildren also in the hospital.
Pele is widely considered Brazil’s greatest ever player and was able to watch his country’s World Cup campaign in Qatar despite being in hospital.
He burst onto the global stage as a 17-year-old in the 1958 World Cup, helping Brazil to their first record of five successes, before also winning. from the 1962 and 1970 World Cups with the national side.
One of Pele’s rivals, Romario, wished the Brazilian football legend well in a recent video on social media.
Speaking to Ge Globo, Romario said: King, better. Faith so far. The whole world seeks and prays for you. Better! I kiss your heart.’
