NBA world reacts to Ja Morant’s ridiculous poster dunk against the Pacers

Ja Morant had one of the best dunks of his career in Saturday night’s win over the Indiana Pacers.

The Memphis Grizzlies star guard sprinted toward the rim and threw his 6-foot-3 body into the air to slam into the Pacers’ 6-foot-10 Jalen Smith. The dunk was like many that Morant failed to complete, but this time it went in.

Morant’s dunk quickly went viral and generated a lot of reaction to his dunk poster. He even received the endorsement of NBA Hall of Famer Kevin Garnett.

“When we look at Ja’s on the sidelines, when it’s all said and done, we’ll be right up there with some of the best ever,” Garnett said on Twitter.

Morant has a unique ability to show fans even among the NBA’s biggest superstars. He did it again Saturday night.

Here are some of Morant’s dunk reactions.

Morant surprises NBA veterans

Garnett wasn’t the only one erupting after Morant’s dunk. Washington Wizards forward Kyle Kuzma agreed with Garnett’s statement and called it a fact. Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant was speechless when he saw Morant’s dunk over Smith. Durant tweeted a series of memes in response to Morant’s dunk.

Former NBA player and current ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins was the Grizzlies quarterback last season when many people doubted him. After the dunk, he reminded his Twitter followers of Morant’s greatness.

Perkins even went a step further by advocating that Morant should start in the 2023 NBA All-Star Game. He is currently the third most voted guard by fans behind Luka Doncic and Steph Curry.

“Fans want to see highlights … and that’s exactly what Ja Morant will give you,” Perkins tweeted. “The most electric player in the NBA!!!”

Mitchell requests the NBA Dunk Contest

Morant even impressed current NBA players. Donovan Mitchell tweeted in hopes of convincing Morant to do the NBA Dunk Contest. The All-Star Weekend competition now has one more spot available. While fans and current players have been pushing Morant to make the matchup, it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen.
