Argentina vs. Australia live updates: Socceroos tighten it up, trail 2-1

The 2022 FIFA World Cup On Saturday on FOX, Argentina (2-0-1) hosted Australia (2-0-1) at the Ahmed bin Ali Stadium in Al Rayyan, Qatar, in the tournament’s second round of 16 match.

The winner will face the Netherlands in the quarterfinals, which begin on Friday, after the Dutch advanced past the USA 3-1 on Saturday.

The stage is set

Argentina made it to the knockout stages despite opening the match with a 2-1 loss to Saudi Arabia, due to which Argentina had the edge. However, Argentina flexed their muscles, defeating Poland and Mexico by 2-0 scores to win Group C.

On the other hand, the Australian aspect is a bit of a disappointment with their No. The 38th place in the FIFA rankings is the lowest among the Group of 16 qualifiers. The morbid, runners-up in Group D, started with a solid 4-1 defeat at the hands of champions France before rebounding 1-0 against Tunisia and Denmark.
